Citrus Bird Feeder

  • Grapefruit or large orange
  • String
  • Pencil, dowel or drinking straw
  • Ice pick or awl
  • Birdseed

    How To Make It

    1. Cut fruit in half and remove the pulp.
    2. Using an ice pick, make three small, evenly spaced holes near the upper edge of the cut half.
    3. Thread a length of string through each hole, secure each with a knot on the outside and join all three together at the top.
    4. For a perch, poke a pencil, dowel or straw all the way through the orange so it sticks out on two sides.
    5. Tie your birdfeeder to a tree branch and fill it with birdseed. Refill as necessary.
