Make Rain


Supplies

  • Water
  • Saucepan
  • Glass jar with lid (large mason jar is good)
  • Towel
  • Ice Cubes

    How To Make It

    1. Ask mom or dad to bring a pot of water to a boil. Let cool slightly.
    2. Pour the water into the jar and put the lid on.
    3. Place the jar on a towel.
    4. Put ice on the jar's lid.
    5. Watch your rainstorm happen!

    Notes:

    Rainstorms occur when a cold front (mass of cold air) comes into contact with warm air. Moisture from the warm air is pushed up, clouds are formed, and soon the rain falls!
