Halloween Crafts -
Placemats




What You Need

Poster Board (cut into placemat size)
Old greeting cards or pictures of Halloween
Clear self-adhesive Con-Tact paper
Scissors (pinking or scalloped type would even be more fun)
Optional: Colored construction paper for cutting out letters for names
Some paper lace, bits of ribbon, pressed leaves, etc. could be added to your collage.

  1. Cut out pictures. A variety of sizes and shapes will add character to each placemat.
  2. Cut out the letters of Halloween or your pals name from the colored construction paper.
  3. Lay your poster board on a flat surface.
  4. Arrange the pictures face up on the board until you are satisfied with your design.
  5. Carefully peel off the backing of the clear Con-Tact paper and line up the edge of the Con-Tact paper with the edge of the poster board.
  6. Slowly press the Con-Tact paper over the top of the board and your arrangement of pictures and letters, etc. Carefully smoothing it out as you go. Try to work out all the air bubbles you can.
  7. Add another layer of Con-Tact paper on the bottom side of your placemat with make it last longer.
  8. Trim the edge of your placemat with your scissors.
