"Can I Help You"


When To Say It

When you see someone may be in need of help.
When you want to do something nice for someone.
To offer assistance to another person.

When Not To Say It

When someone is attempting to do something independently (wait to be asked for help).
To be rude.

Why We Say It

To make the world a better place.
To show we are willing to help others.
To feel good about ourselves.

How To Say It

Make eye contact.
In a normal tone of voice offer assistance, "Can or may I help you."
State what you would like to help with.

Examples

"Can I help you get that book off the top shelf?"
"Can I help you with the dishes mom?"
"May I help you find what you are looking for?"
"May I help you untie that knot?"
