When To Say It

When you are asking for something.

When Not To Say It

When you don't believe someone

Why We Say It

Being polite will get your farther than being rude.
Shows respect for another person.
There are no misunderstandings about taking something.

How To Say It

Make eye contact with the person and smile.
Say, "Please" in a normal tone of voice.
State why you are saying it.

Examples

"May I have the salt, please?"
"May I be excused please?"
"May I have some money for a new dress?"
"Please don't give us any homework for the long weekend."
