Learning Your Manners 101 I know how to say, "Thank You" When To Say It When someone does something for you. When receiving a gift. When receiving a compliment. When Not To Say It While being sarcastic (can be misinterpreted). Why We Say It Shows your good side. Makes someone feel good about themselves. Promoted repeat behaviour. How To Say It Make eye contact. In a normal voice say, "Thank you". If appropriate state why you are saying it. Examples Someone says you are pretty. Just say, "Thank You". "Thank you for the diary for my birthday. It's perfect." "Thank you for picking me up from the party mom." "Thank you for the hockey tickets dad." "Thank you for standing up for me."
