Treasure Chest

Supplies

  • Empty kleenex box
  • Black, red and yellow construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Markers
  • Print out this template

How To Make It

  1. Cover the kleenex box with black construction paper.
  2. Cut around 3 sides of the kleenex box, about an inch from the top (so the treasure chest opens). You will need to bend back the cardboard on the remaining, attached side so the chest opens and closes properly.
  3. Glue a piece of red construction paper to the inside of the lid and chest.
  4. Colour the template pieces and cut them out.
  5. Glue the KEEP OUT warning to the top of the chest.
  6. Cut 1/2 inch strips from yellow construction paper and glue them to all the edges of the treasure chest.
  7. Glue the lock onto the front of the chest
  8. Glue the handles onto the sides of the chest.

Note: Glue sequins, plastic jewels or painted rocks onto the lid. Fill with chocolate gold coins.
