Fruit and Nut Loaf
Ingredients
1/2 cup marargine, softened
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp almond flavoring
2 1/8 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup glazed fruit
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
Method
- Cream butter and sugar together. BEat in eggs one at a stime until smooth.
- Stir in milk, vanilla and almond flavoring.
- In large bowl combine flour, baking pwder and salt. Stir in fruit, raisins and nuts. Add all at once to first bowl. Stir just to moisten.
- Turn into greased 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.
- Bake at 350° for one hour or until toothpick comes out clean.
- Let sit 10 minutes. Remove from pan, cool and wrap.
