Santa Cookies
Ingredients
8 oz. white or chocolate flavoured candy coating
1 tsp. vegetable shortening
24 sugar cookies (2 1/2-inch)
Red or green colored sugar
Flaked coconut
12 Small gumdrops, cut in half crosswise
72 red cinnamon candies
Method
- Line cookie sheets with wax paper. Set aside
- In 1-quart saucepan, combine candy coating and shortening. Melt over low heat, stirring constantly.
- Dip top of each cookie into coating.
- Place cookies dipped sides up in prepared cookie sheets.
- Decorate each Santa with colored sugar to make hat, and coconut to make beard. Use gumdrop half to make pom-pom for hat, and cinnamon candies for eyes and nose.
- Let dry completely before storing.
