Roast Turkey
Method
- Make sure cavity of turkey is empty
- Wash turkey inside and out with water and pat dry with a paper towel
- Stuff turkey with stuffing
- Use skewers to hold both turkey openings closed
- Rub turkey and legs with margarine
- Sprinkle turkey with a little salf and pepper
- Place breast side up on a rack in a roaster large enough to hold turkey. Cover with lid or tin foil.
- Bake just below center in preheated 400°F oven for 30 minutes
- Wash hands with antibacterial soap to get rid of turkey residue on your hands
- Reduce heat to 325°F until done. Cook 25-30 minutes per 1 lb (500g).
Basting your turkey often makes it moist
- Remove lid or tin foil last 15 minutes of cooking
- Allow turkey to stand for 15-20 minutes before carving
